I have decided to order a cake from Mannings Bakery, when do I need to order?
This depends on the type of cake you would like! See a rough guideline below and remember that even if the official lead time has past it is never too late to ask. If we can get the cake you want made in time we will & if we can’t we can usually offer an alternative. Don’t have time to collect? Don’t worry, we deliver all over Dublin!
Fresh Irish Cream & Buttercream Cakes:
48 Hours Notice is required for online ordering & recomended for telephone/email orders. However, we make fresh Irish cream cakes & buttercream cakes in a variety of sizes for our counters everyday. There is almost alway’s a fresh cream cake or buttercream cake available for delivery or collection From Blanchardstown, Tallaght or the city Centre (Thomas St.).
Chocolate & Speciality Cakes:
48 hours notice is required & reccomended for telephone & email orders for chocolate & speciality cakes.
Sugarcraft & novelty Cakes:
For sugarcraft & novelty cakes 5 Days notice is required for online orders & reccomended for telephone & email orders. Sugarcraft & novelty cakes take that bit more planning & TLC!
Wedding Cakes:
We generally ask for at least one months notice for wedding cake orders & enquiries but have made them on the day of the wedding when asked! The extra time allows us to consult with the bride and groom and source any bespoke materials that might be required, as well as roster the confectioner with the relevant sugarcraft skills.
I am not sure whether I want to order a cake for Delivery or collection, where can I collect a cake?

Where do you guys deliver your cakes & catering to?
We will deliver cakes and Catering anywhere in Dublin with a discounted rate of €10 in proximity to our shops & in Dublin 1 – 12 & €15 anywhere in county Dublin. See the Delivery section in ‘about us’ for more details.
What is the difference between Office catering & Home catering?
We make and bake a lot of the same gourmet foods for our home & office catering and present them differently to suit the different environments in which they are served. Our office catering menu has a range of healthy, hearty and tasty options as well as more traditional & luxury treats than you could shake a rolling pin at. All available for delivery of course. Office catering is served in platters with napkins and disposables so that there is no fuss and shirts, hands & cuffs stay clean and presentable! Perfect for conference’s, presentations, meetings or just Friday treats.
Our Home catering option is designed to provide a good value gourmet catering option. We provide a range of tasty meal & snack options that we deliver cold to be reheated by you, giving you time to take care of the important stuff & still serve up a gourmet meal, just in time to take the credit!
What is gift a Cake?
The most popular Thank you gifts, Love you gifts, Sorry gifts & Thinking of you gifts are food related, just look at Instagram, Facebook & twitter! When you choose the Mannings Bakery Gift a Cake option, we box whatever cake or treat you have chosen, tie it with string and write a personalised message on a Mannings Bakery gift tag. We can then deliver the gift that everyone wants anywhere in Dublin while you wait for the kudo’s to roll in!
I need a Christening cake/Wedding Cake/Birthday Cake/Anniversary Cake on a Sunday but I want my cake to be fresh. What are my options?
Manning’s Bakery Blanchardstown & Mannings Bakery Tallaght are open 7 days with a Baker/confectioner on site from 6.30 am everyday! That means we can make you the cake you want, the day you want it ready for collection. Our delivery service is also available 7 days so if you are busy getting ready for your event we can deliver your cake to the Hotel/Pub/House where the party is taking place. Easy!
What can Mannings Bakery do for corporate events & what are corporate cakes?
We frequently get orders for bespoke gift box’s and baskets which we can pack with promotional material and send to clients. We frequently organise the making, baking, decorating, packing & delivery of promotional cake box’s to multiple locations as a part of client marketing campaigns to specific briefs. I have read that you are a traditional old Dublin business, what does that mean?
That means that we have been making birthday Cakes, wedding cakes, christening cakes, occasion cakes and all kinds of other sugarcraft, confectionary & traditional Irish baked goods for the people of Dublin since 1952, always by hand and with love! The first bakery shop & grocery was set up by Cecil Manning and the business is now owned and run by his daughter, Irene Manning. A real family owned, independent Dublin Bakery.
How much is it to get a personalised message inscribed on a cake?
It is free and can be done at the counter by our specially trained shop staff!
